Public health and economic consequences on the approximately 33 million people residing in the metropolitan zone is enormous, according to various research.

The contaminated air causes high levels of neurological, cardiovascular and respiratory conditions, and can even lead to oncological diseases.

The pollution is projected to be accounting for 10,000 untimely fatalities per year in Delhi.
