European Leaders Decry US Action as ‘Coercion’
Officials from Europe such as the French president charged Washington of “bullying and threats”, following the visa restrictions targeted individuals that were central to efforts to introduce legislation governing US-based technology firms.
“For too long, ideologues in Europe have spearheaded coordinated campaigns to coerce American platforms to punish US perspectives they disagree with,” stated the US secretary of state online. “The current administration will no longer tolerate such actions of censorship beyond its borders.”
